Even if you are not familiar with the Sylter Rote Grütze, the red fruit berry jelly from Leysieffer, you can now taste it as a fruit spread. Cherries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, red and black currants are all combined in this product to perform magic on your palate. The fruit spread is simply delicious on a plain roll or slice of bread as well as in a semolina pudding or yoghurt.

Sometimes the saying “Everything was better in the past” is simply true. And that is precisely why our fruit spreads are still made in a very traditional way. We really do still cook them over an open flame on a gas stove. And in a good old copper pot. We are convinced that you can taste the difference: the hand work, the loving care and the freshness.
We also always produce only very small quantities of 3 kg per variety at a time. Not only because the hot pot has to be carefully decanted by hand after reaching a boil, but also because we want our spreads to get to you as fresh as possible.
Where strawberry still tastes like strawberry and apricot like apricot.
In following this traditional production method, it is of course particularly important to us that the end product tastes good. That is why we attach equally high importance to good ingredients. Each fruit spread has a fruit content of over 50%, sometimes even higher than 60%.
“Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper” – a saying that also comes to us from the good old days. In other words, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This alone already makes it worthwhile treating yourself to something as good as a homemade fruit spread from the Leysieffer manufactory.
